Description

Embark on a thrilling 2‑Hour Jeep adventure across the legendary Ophir Pass. Climbing to 11,789 ft in a fully equipped off‑road vehicle, you'll wind up narrow shelf roads with breathtaking drop‑offs and jaw‑dropping scenery. Along the way, your guide shares tales of historic mining operations, Navajo routes, and the area's nearly 150‑year road history, painting a vivid picture of Colorado’s past

This moderately rated tour (Difficulty 2) is accessible to all ages and experience levels. Expect gentle climbing, occasional low‑range moments, tight switchbacks near the summit, and shelf‑roads where vehicles must yield . Whether you're in a Wrangler or similar 4×4, you’ll find the ride smooth yet exhilarating, with cushioned suspension easing the bumps.

Pause at the summit to drink in sweeping vistas of the San Juan peaks, wildflower‑studded slopes, curved aspens, and intimate glimpses of alpine lakes . Opt for the Telluride‑side ascent to ensure uphill right‑of‑way on the most precarious sections.

Operating June through September, this tour runs rain or shine, with adjustments for safety during high‑altitude weather shifts. In just two hours, you’ll experience Colorado's alpine core—dramatic, historic, and utterly unforgettable.
