Description

Get ready for a privately guided fly fishing trip in the heart of Colorado's Winter season on the Uncompahgre River. Soak in the views of snowcapped peaks while you navigate the fun and technical fishing with the help of our seasoned guides.

While this tour is beginner-friendly, it's aimed towards fishing enthusiasts, as it'll give you the chance to spend an entire day in nature finding the ideal fishing holes. Winter Fly Fishing on the Uncompahgre provides technical tailwater nymphing with low, clear river flows and trout that remain responsive to midges and small mayflies. Sight fishing for potentially large trout is a distinct attraction. During the winter, the fish become more selective in their feeding, providing a great opportunity to hone in your skills of match-the-hatch fly fishing.

We'll hook you up with top-notch gear, share local wisdom about the best spots, and create an atmosphere where you can kick back, tighten your lines, and hopefully reel in a blue ribbon trout. Whether you are a veteran angler or a novice, the Uncompahgre River has miles of multiple great access points above and below the Ridgway reservoir to allow less time driving and more time fishing.
